How do you make a chocolate cake?
This recipe is super easy. You just mix cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, baking soda together. In a separate bowl, mix sugar, egg, oil together. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, alternating it with buttermilk. Easy peasy right?
This batter is thin so don't think that you did anything wrong when you make it.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa powder
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 brown sugar
2 eggs
1/3 cup oil
1/2 cup buttermilk*
150g heavy cream
12g cocoa powder
20g sugar
Directions:
1. Sift the cocoa power, flour, baking powder and baking soda together.
2. In a separate bowl, mix the eggs and sugars then add oil. mix until it looks caramel like.
3. Pour half of the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and add half of the buttermilk.
mix until it resembles a thick batter. Add rest of the wet ingredients and buttermilk. Mix until it forms a thin batter.
4. Divide the batter equally into two 6-inch cake pans and bake at 180'C for 20 minutes.
