The Easiest Puff Pastry

Updated: Apr 30, 2019

This puff pastry is super light, and unbelievably flaky. Puff Pastry can seem quite daunting to make. But it's okay we've got your back. We are showing you how to make the easiest puff pastry. Puff pastry is very similar to pie crust. It has lots of butter and it's what make puff pastry flaky light and tender. You can buy these in the store but there is something about homemade that seems unbeatable. The fun thing about puff pastry is that you can shape it into anything you want! You can make pretty flowers or make pop tarts. You can also make them savory! The possibilities are endless!

Ingrdients:

2 and 1/3 cup of flour

14 tbsp of frozen butter

8-10 tbsp of ice water

1 tbsp of lemon juice*

Directions:

1. Freeze the butter for 2 hours - overnight.

2. Mix together the ice water and lemon juice

3. In a large bowl, add in the flour. Then, grate in the frozen butter. Mix until it resembles corse meal.

4. Add in the ice water, leaving a little bit behind so you could add more if you need.

5. Start to form a dough with your hand.

6. Once a dough has formed, wrap it in cling wrap and chill for 1-2 hours

7. Make any desired shapes.

If baking puff pastry, it depends on the amount you are baking. But little bits like my video are for 17 minutes at 200'C.
