What is a chocolate ganache?
Ganache is a glaze, icing, sauce, or filling for pastries made from chocolate and cream.
It wildly customizable and it can be used from glazes, icing, sauces, truffles, filling or even into frosting! If you know how to make a good chocolate ganache, then you can get creative!
What does it taste like?
Obviously chocolate because it is a chocolate ganache. It is super creamy and chocolatey and sinfully rich. Kind of like a soft chocolate bar, but even better because there is cream.
How to make chocolate ganache
Chocolate ganache is super easy to make and takes less than 10 minutes to make it. Just warm the cream until almost to a boil and pour it over the chocolate. then mix it until all the chocolate is melted. Then let it chill until completely cooled and it should firm up a little bit but still have the creamy texture.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
4 ounces (113g) chocolate bar, chopped
Directions:
1. In saucepan, heat the cream until a boil.
2. Pour the warm cream over the chocolate then mix together until there are no more lumps.
If you cna't get rid of lumps, try microwaving it in 10 second intervals.
3. Chill until completely cooled.
Use this ganache in between cakes, cookies or even to make truffles.
